My daycare is a clean and non-smoking environment with a large fenced backyard, lots of toys which the children can play with. I strive
to provide an atmosphere filled with toys and activities which encourage imagination and exploration. Children are exposed to valuable
social skills while involved in play such as learning to share, take turns, respect another's feeling and also basic manners.
I believe some discipline is good, like learning good habits. But I don't believe in too much discipline. It effects the
child's self confidence and free development.
I have been in the childcare and early childhood education field since 1996. I am a member of the Tri-Cities
YMCA Childcare Referral Service, Western Canada Family Child Care Association of BC. I have CPR and First Aid certifications and I also
regularly attend workshops and training to improve my knowledge and skills to provide better care for your child.
I hold the following certifications/credentials:
CPR
St John's First Aid
Introduction to Family Daycare
Many workshops offered through YMCA Childcare and Simon Fraser Health Authority
My Goals & Philosophy:
In my daycare, I provide a warm, safe and stimulating atmosphere where self confidence is encouraged and an interest in learning is promoted through play. Care can be provided for brothers and sisters together. The small ratio of children per home, allows for individual attention to be given to each child at each development level.
I believe discipline is good, like learning good habits. But I don't believe in too much discipline. It effects the child;s self confidence and free development. It can also effect the child;s physical and emotional development.
My Daycare aims to promote a positive attitude towards childcare and believes that caring for children other than one's own is providing a valuable service to the community.
